Abu Dhabi GP

“I would have loved to sign-off this chapter with a podium, so I can’t be ecstatic with fourth and there is a little disappointment there. I led for a while which was fun but staying out put me out of touch with the leaders. I don’t think we had much of a choice, maybe we could have pitted early and kept track position but nobody thought the supersofts would hold on like they did. The pace advantage after I pitted was strong but it fell away quite quickly and I couldn’t make a big enough impact on Max or the leaders. My thoughts are still on the race but once I cool off I will reflect on the last five years with the Team. I would have loved a championship with them but Red Bull brought me my first pole, victory and podium. Everything I have done in F1 is down the them and I’m incredibly grateful for that. The moment before the race with everyone in the garage showing their love and appreciation was really cool and that’s certainly something I will never forget. I thank the Team for the last five years and Red Bull for the last 10. I would have loved to drink out of my shoe and celebrate with the Team one last time, but now I close this chapter with thanks and love for everyone in the Red Bull family.”

Russian GP

“The first lap was a bit of a mess and there are a few little things I will look back on and try to do better. Two cars were fighting at Turn 8 and as I went to pass them I was on the marbles, then off-track, which lost me positions. I then tried to take the slipstream of what I think was the McLaren but when I pulled out of the tow I hit some debris damaging my front wing. From then on, we had a bit of a limp and my race was pretty lonely. I think as a Team, fifth and sixth was probably the best we could achieve from the back of the grid today but obviously I would like to have been closer to fifth than seventh. Although we had better pace than expected this weekend I think we still made the right decision to take the penalties and on paper Suzuka, Austin and Mexico look better for us. I may have forgotten what champagne tastes like and I definitely want more before the season is out, so I will do what I can in Suzuka to get that.”

DANIEL RELEASES LIMITED EDITION COLLABORATION WITH MELIN

Daniel has teamed up with Melin, the creators of the world’s best caps, to release a limited edition collaboration cap. Honoring his favourite race and home away from home, ‘The Monaco’ cap is fuelled by passion and inspired by the grind.

“The Monaco” pairs Ricciardo’s design ideas with Melin’s expertise in creating an elevated headwear experience. The cap is constructed from some of the most premium materials available in the world, including imported melton wool, genuine nappa leather and brushed suede. Each limited edition cap comes in Melin’s signature hard display box with an official certificate of authenticity.

When asked about this collaboration, Daniel said: “I had been a fan of Melin caps since I tried my first one on as the quality is on another level. I’m now stoked to be launching my signature hat, The Monaco, with the guys.
