Daniel Ricciardo

2023

After completing a Pirelli tyre test for Red Bull Racing at Silverstone following the British Grand Prix in July, Daniel joins Scuderia AlphaTauri on loan for the rest of the season, making his return to the team he drove for in 2012-13 when it was known as Scuderia Toro Rosso at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

2022

Daniel's second year with McLaren is more challenging than his first, finishing 11th in the drivers' championship with a season-best fifth place coming under lights in Singapore. In August, Daniel and McLaren agreed to a mutual termination of his contract at the end of the season. In November, Red Bull Racing announces Daniel's return to the team as third driver for 2023.

2021

Moved to McLaren as teammate to Lando Norris, and secured the team’s first win since Brazil 2012 when he was victorious at the Italian Grand Prix, his eighth career win. Daniel also took fastest lap at Monza, the 16th of his career. Started his 200th Formula One race at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, and finished 21 of the 22 Grands Prix to place eighth overall in the drivers’ championship.

2020

Finishes fifth overall with 119 points in a season reduced to just 17 races because of COVID-19. Finishes third at the Nurburgring, Renault's first podium finish in nine years, and third again at Imola. Records fastest laps in Belgium and in his final race for the team in Abu Dhabi.

2019

Moves to Renault, finishing a season-best fourth in Italy, and qualifies fourth in Canada. Finishes ninth in the world championship with 54 points, five places and 17 points ahead of teammate Nico Hulkenberg.

2018

Wins two of the first six races of the year, storming through the field in China and then atoning for the disappointment of 2016 with a maiden F1 win at Monaco. Qualifies on pole at Monaco and Mexico, but a grid-high eight DNF's leaves him sixth in the world championship with 170 points. Announces a two-year deal to move to Renault for 2019-20 in August.

2017

Daniel wins a crazy Azerbaijan Grand Prix and takes eight other podiums, including finishing second for the third straight time in Singapore. Six DNF's, including three in the final four races, sees him finish fifth overall with 200 points.

2016

Takes his maiden F1 pole position in Monaco, but is cruelly denied a victory in the Principality after a botched pit stop when he was leading the race, eventually finishing second. Wins in Malaysia and takes eight podiums in all to finish third overall with 256 points, and is the only driver to finish all 21 races. Starts his 100th Grand Prix in Germany in round 12.

2015

Daniel takes podiums in Singapore (second) and Hungary (third), and records three fastest laps, finishing eighth in the world championship with 92 points in a season where Mercedes won 16 of the 19 Grands Prix.

2014

Daniel's breakthrough F1 season for Red Bull, which featured wins in Canada, Hungary and Belgium. Finishes second at the season-opener in Australia, but loses the podium after his car was disqualified for a fuel-flow infringement. Takes his first F1 podium by finishing third in the fifth round of the season in Spain. Eight podium finishes in all sees Daniel finish third in the world championship with 238 points.

2013

Retained by Toro Rosso alongside Jean-Eric Vergne for second season, and finishes 14th overall with 20 points. Finishes a career-best seventh in China and Italy. Named as Mark Webber's replacement at Red Bull Racing for 2014, joining four-time and reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel.
